The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace components meet quality standards and customer requirements. The role includes inspection, documentation, process monitoring, and quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Testing: Design comprehensive test plans, risk-based testing frameworks, and quality metrics.
Process Control: Implement statistical process controls (SPC) and failure analysis tools like FMEA.
Root-Cause Analysis: Investigate production or software defects and drive corrective actions (CAPA).
Auditing & Compliance: Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and lead internal or supplier audits.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Guide cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
Inspection & Quality Control
Perform in-process and final inspection of components
Verify dimensions using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM)
Ensure product meets drawing and GD&T; requirements
Documentation & Quality Records
Prepare inspection reports
Maintain quality documents and records
Handle First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
Quality System Compliance
Follow AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards
Support internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards
Root Cause Analysis
Identify quality issues
Perform root cause analysis
