Role & responsibilities
Prepare the catheterization lab, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning.
Assess patients, confirm consent, check vital signs, and prepare the insertion site (e.g., wrist or groin).
Connect patients to monitoring equipment like EKG, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry
Assist the interventional cardiologist as a scrub nurse by handling sterile instruments, guidewires, and catheters.
Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents while monitoring for allergic reactions.
Continuously monitor patient vital signs and airway; respond promptly to emergency situations
