We are looking for a proactive, self-driven, and result-oriented Chartered Accountant to join our finance team and work closely with the client. The role supports an Australia-based business in the automotive service industry, including smash repair and vehicle service centre operations, managing financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet governance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
Ensure timely, accurate month/quarter/year-end closing.
Prepare & review P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow reports.
Drive month-end close adherence to timelines.
Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments.
Perform variance analysis with business commentary.
Balance Sheet & GL Management
Own all Balance Sheet reconciliations & substantiations.
Resolve aged and unreconciled items timely.
Identify unusual trends, risks, or control gaps.
Maintain accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes
CFO Support & Business Finance
Act as key finance partner to the CFO.
Prepare management reports, dashboards & analysis.
Support budgeting, forecasting & cash flow planning.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects.
Team Management & Compliance
Lead, mentor and review junior finance team members.
Coordinate with auditors and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards & policies.
Strengthen financial controls and governance processes.
Desired Skills & Experience
Robust Financial Reporting & Month-End Close experience.
Hands-on Balance Sheet Reconciliations & GL Management.
Experience supporting CFO-level reporting.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Experience on Xero ERP is mandatory/preferred.
Strong analytical & stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication & team management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
