Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Prepare patients for catheterization, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation and cardiac procedures
Take patient's vital signs, oxygen levels and heart rhythm
Ensure patients chart and records are updated
Monitor patient's vital signs during the procedure
Administer medication according to the physicians instructions before, during and after cardiac procedures
Assist during emergencies and perform lifesaving procedures
Adhere departmental safety and quality procedures
Respond to patient concerns and answered questions
Educate patients on what was involved with the procedure of inserting the catheter
Implemented infection control practices
