Senior Packaging Engineer:
Role Summary
The Senior Packaging Engineer leads the development of packaging programs,
drives technical decisions, mentors junior engineers, and ensures robust,
compliant, and cost‑effective packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead packaging design and validation for new products and programs.
* Define packaging strategies aligned with business initiatives.
* Perform advanced testing, analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
* Develop and approve packaging standards, specifications, and best practices.
* Lead supplier engagement for packaging materials and tooling.
* Drive cost‑reduction, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Mentor and technically guide Packaging Engineers.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or
related field. In lieu of a degree, previous work experience may be
considered.
* 6–10 years of relevant packaging engineering experience.
* Strong understanding of global packaging material and design standards
* Solid understanding of packaging and transportation test procedures.
* Proficiency in CAD, PLM, and engineering documentation.
* Demonstrated experience leading packaging projects end‑to‑end.
* Strong cross‑functional collaboration and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
