About the role
As an Engineering Manager, you'll leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership skills to guide and inspire a team of highly skilled engineers. You'll ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, secure and AI-enabled technology solutions that underpin Woolworths' digital ecosystem. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of technical excellence, responsible AI adoption, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, driving innovation and delivering exceptional results for the business.

What you’ll do
Lead & Mentor Engineering Team: Hire, guide, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers across various disciplines including software development, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and AI.



You'll foster a positive and collaborative setting that encourages professional growth and a passion for building high-quality, AI-augmented technology solutions. .
Drive Technical Excellence & Innovation: Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, engineering practices, and architectural design including agentic engineering and workflows. You'll champion responsible AI practices and encourage experimentation with emerging AI technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure Operational Excellence: Champion operational excellence by implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes including those specific to AI-enabled systems. You'll proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure system stability, performance, and security.
Engineer solutions on-demand: You will roll up your sleeves, and get into coding if the situation requires you to solve complex technical problems.
