Description

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and data applications using Python.

Write and optimize complex SQL across PostgreSQL and Amazon Redshift (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).

Build, orchestrate, and monitor data pipelines using Step Functions and/or Apache Airflow.

Develop serverless components and event-driven workflows using AWS Lambda.

Manage data storage, ingestion,aq and lifecycle on Amazon S3.

Design and maintain data models, schemas, and indexing strategies for performance and scalability.

Integrate and maintain metadata/data-catalog workflows via DataHub.

Collaborate on and maintain integrations with existing C# components within the project.

Ensure data integrity, security, observability, and cost efficiency across the pipeline.

Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and cross-functional collaboration (product, QA, DevOps).

Requirements

4-8 years of hands-on software/data engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Python (and a framework such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI).




Robust expertise in PostgreSQL — query optimization, indexing, stored procedures.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, specifically: Amazon Redshift (data warehousing, query/performance tuning) Amazon S3 (storage, data lake patterns) AWS Lambda (serverless, event-driven processing) Pipeline orchestration experience with AWS Step Functions and/or Apache Airflow. Experience with data cataloging / metadata management using DataHub (or similar). Solid understanding of relational data modeling and ETL/ELT design. Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
