Workday Extend Developer

Development & Design
Design and develop custom applications using Workday Extend (WD Extend platform)
Build UI, business logic, and workflows using Extend components
Develop integrations using Workday APIs (REST/SOAP)
Extend core Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Recruiting, Finance) with custom solutions

? Configuration & Implementation
Configure Workday Extend applications in tenant environments
Use Workday Studio / EIB / Core Connectors where required
Implement business rules, validations, and approval flows
Ensure adherence to Workday security and data access models

? Integration & Data Handling
Work with Workday data sources and business objects
Design data models and APIs for Extend apps
Integrate Extend apps with external systems (e.g., ServiceNow, ERP, third-party tools)

? Testing & Deployment
Perform unit testing and support UAT
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Extend applications
Deploy applications across sandbox, impl, and production tenants

? Collaboration
Collaborate with HR functional teams, Payroll, and Finance stakeholders




Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Provide technical guidance and best practices for Extend usage

? Support & Maintenance
Monitor and enhance existing Extend apps
Optimize performance and scalability
Provide technical support and documentation

? Required Skills & Experience
✅ Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with Workday Extend (must-have)
Solid knowledge of:
Workday HCM / Finance data model
Workday APIs (REST, SOAP)
Workday security framework
Experience with:
JavaScript / TypeScript (for Extend logic)
JSON, XML
Web services and integrations

✅ Functional Knowledge
Understanding of at least one Workday module (HCM, Payroll, or Finance)
Ability to map business processes to technical solutions

✅ Experience
5 years of Workday experience – relevant Extend experience 3+ years
Prior experience in Workday configuration or integration preferred
Experience building custom Extend ap
