About the Role
As a Cyber Defence Engineer, you will be responsible for helping customers reduce cyber risk by designing, implementing and optimising security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure and endpoint environments.
This is a hands-on security engineering role focused on proactive security improvement rather than traditional SOC operations. You will work directly with customers to identify security gaps, build remediation roadmaps, implement improvements and provide expert guidance on Microsoft security technologies.
You will become a trusted security advisor to customers, helping them improve their security maturity through practical implementation, technical consultancy and continuous security posture improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
Deliver customer security remediation roadmaps aligned to CIS Benchmarks, Microsoft Secure Score recommendations and industry best practice.
Configure and optimise Microsoft security technologies including:
Microsoft Defender Suite
Microsoft Sentinel
Microsoft Intune
Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft Purview
Defender for Cloud
Conditional Access
Exchange Online Protection
Conduct security assessments, gap analyses and security posture reviews to identify opportunities for risk reduction and service improvement.
Plan, document and implement security remediation activities through structured change-management processes.
Work directly with customer stakeholders to understand business requirements, present recommendations and obtain approval for security improvements.
