Job Summary
MSPurview Specialist: The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Support role is responsible for ensuring effective protection of sensitive enterprise data through Microsoft Purview Information Protection and DLP solutions. The role supports the operational stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of data protection controls across the organization. At L2, the role focuses on day-to-day operational support, including incident management, monitoring of DLP alerts, validation of sensitivity labels and policies, user guidance, and maintaining documentation in line with SLAs and compliance requirements. At L3, the role acts as a subject matter expert (SME), providing advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, policy design and optimization, and strategic advisory on data protection. This level also leads complex changes, engages with Microsoft support, supports compliance audits, and collaborates closely with stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s data security framework.



The position requires strong expertise in Microsoft Purview, DLP policies, and AIP scanners, along with PowerShell scripting skills, a solid understanding of O365/Azure security architecture, and effective stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities
Incident Management
• Handle and resolve DLP-related incidents within SLA.
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L3 or vendor support.
Policy & Label Management
• Assist in maintaining and validating Sensitivity Labels and DLP policies.
• Support configuration changes as per approved change requests.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Monitor DLP alerts and generate periodic compliance reports.
• Validate AIP scanner operations and escalate anomalies.
User Support
• Provide guidance to end-users on DLP-related queries.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for approvals and clarifications.
Documentation
• Maintain incident logs, SOPs, and update knowledge base articles.
Skill Requirements
Strong understanding of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, DLP policies, and AIP scanners.
• Experience with O365 Security & Compliance Center.
• Basic PowerShell scripting for policy validation and troubleshooting.
• Positive communication and coordination skills.
