Job Summary
We are looking for a Microsoft Database Administrator (L2+) with solid hands-on experience in administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments in production. The role involves incident and problem management, performance tuning, availability and DR readiness, patching, security, and automation, working closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to meet SLA/SLO commitments.

Key Responsibilities

2. Analyze Client Requirements And Ensure That The Support Team Consistently Meets And Exceeds Client Expectations Through Effective Management And Resource Allocation.
3. Lead And Mentor The Project Team, Facilitating Transparent Communication Of Project Goals And Fostering A Collaborative Environment For Continuous Improvement.
4. Drive Innovation By Identifying And Proposing New Ideas For Process Development, Leveraging Azure Iaas Solutions To Support Organizational Progress.
5. Provide Tailored Solutions That Align With Customer Needs By Utilizing Expertise In Mssql And Azure Mysql, Resulting In Measurable Business Outcomes.

Skill Requirements
8+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in production (administration and operations/support). Strong proficiency in T-SQL (writing and troubleshooting complex queries, stored procedures, and jobs). Experience with SQL Server HA/DR: Always On Availability Groups (preferred), clustering concepts,



log shipping; ability to perform failover and recovery. Backup/restore expertise, including point-in-time recovery; demonstrated experience validating restores. Performance tuning skills: indexing, statistics, execution plans, wait stats, blocking/deadlocks, tempdb contention. Good understanding of SQL Server security: authentication/authorization, server/database roles, encryption basics (TDE), and audit/traceability requirements. Experience with patching and upgrades, including pre-checks, rollback planning, and change implementation. Exposure to Windows Server fundamentals and troubleshooting (services, event logs, basic OS performance counters). Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request) and working with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow/Remedy). Ability to work in shifts/on-call as required and handle high-severity incidents with explicit communication.

Other Requirements
Experience with SQL Server on Azure (Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance) and related features (Azure AD auth, automated backups, geo-replication concepts). Experience with SSIS/SSRS/SSAS administration and troubleshooting. Experience with replication (transactional/merge) and troubleshooting replication latency. Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD for database deployments and source control for scripts (Azure DevOps/Git). Monitoring and observability tooling experience (SCOM, Grafana/Prometheus exporters, SolarWinds, Redgate/Quest tools, etc.). PowerShell advanced scripting and automation, including scheduled tasks and reporting. Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX/PCI) and implementing database hardening standards.

We are looking for a Microsoft Database Administrator (L2+) with strong hands-on experience in administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments in production. The role involves incident and problem management, performance tuning, availability and DR readiness, patching, security, and automation,



working closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to meet SLA/SLO commitments.

Key Responsibilities
Own L2+ production support for Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022) including incident triage, troubleshooting, service restoration, and RCA.
Perform database administration activities: installation, configuration, upgrades, patching (CU/Security), and decommissioning as per change management.
Monitor database health and capacity: CPU/memory/storage/IOPS, tempdb, jobs, replication/AG health, and proactively prevent issues.
SQL performance tuning: analyze query plans, index strategy, statistics maintenance, parameter sniffing issues, and implement optimizations in coordination with application teams.
Manage high availability and disaster recovery: Always On Availability Groups, log shipping, database mirroring (legacy), clustering concepts; run and document DR drills and failover/failback procedures.
Backup and recovery ownership: define/validate backup strategy (full/diff/log), test restores, point-in-time recovery, and ensure RPO/RTO compliance.
Administer security: logins/users/roles, least privilege access, auditing, encryption (TDE), certificate management as applicable, and support vulnerability remediation.
Automate routine DBA tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell; develop scripts for health checks, maintenance, reporting, and standard operations.
Implement and maintain maintenance plans/agent jobs for integrity checks (DBCC), index rebuild/reorg, statistics updates, cleanup, and alerting. Support migrations and onboarding of new applications/databases (on-prem to on-prem/cloud), including compatibility checks and cutover support.
Work with monitoring/ITSM tools (e.g., SCOM, SSMS alerts, SolarWinds, OEM tools as applicable) and manage alert thresholds and notifications.
Maintain documentation: SOP/runbooks, architecture diagrams (textual), CMDB updates, and knowledge articles for recurring issues.
Participate in on-call/shift rotation and provide support during planned activities (patching, releases, failovers) as per business requirements. Collaborate with Infra/OS/Storage/Network/Security teams to resolve cross-functional issues and drive problem management and continuous improvement.
