Oracle Apps R12 Data Conversion Specialist Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Apps R12 Data Conversion Specialist to lead and support data migration and conversion activities for Oracle E-Business Suite implementations and upgrades. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, complete, and timely data conversion into Oracle R12 environments. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical resources to deliver successful data migration outcomes across complex enterprise implementations.

Key Responsibilities

- Data Conversion Strategy & Design: Design and execute comprehensive data conversion strategies for Oracle Apps R12 implementations, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical constraints.
- Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business users and functional teams to understand data requirements, identify conversion rules, and document data mapping specifications.
- Data Mapping & Transformation: Develop and validate detailed data mapping documents, including field-level transformations, consolidations, and business rule applications.
- Data Quality Management: Perform data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the conversion process.
- Extraction & Loading: Execute data extraction from legacy systems and load processes into Oracle R12 using appropriate data loading tools and interfaces.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare conversion templates, reconciliation reports, validation documents, and data quality assessments for stakeholder review and approval.
- Testing & Validation: Support mock conversions, user acceptance testing (UAT), and cutover activities, identifying and resolving data-related issues.
- Post-Go-Live Support: Provide ongoing support during cutover and post-go-live phases to address data-related concerns and ensure system stability.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate with technical, functional,



and business teams to ensure seamless execution of data migration cycles and timely resolution of issues.
- Knowledge Transfer: Document conversion processes, best practices, and lessons learned for future reference and team capability building.

Required Skills & Experience

- Oracle Apps R12 Expertise: Proven experience (5+ years) in Oracle Apps R12 data conversion and migration activities for E-Business Suite implementations or upgrades.
- Oracle Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Oracle Apps R12 architecture, data structures, key tables, standard interfaces, and data loading tools (e.g., SQL*Loader, Data Pump, API-based loaders).
- SQL & PL/SQL Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation queries.
- Data Validation & Reconciliation: Expertise in designing and executing data validation strategies, reconciliation processes, and gap analysis between legacy and target systems.
- Data Migration Tools: Experience with data migration tools and methodologies specific to Oracle EBS implementations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify data issues, root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordination & Project Management: Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple teams, manage timelines, and ensure deliverable quality.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data accuracy, documentation, and quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications





- Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar ETL tools.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials, Supply Chain Management (SCM), or Human Capital Management (HCM) modules.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (Oracle Cloud ERP) or migration from on-premise to cloud.
- Certification in Oracle Apps or related technologies.
- Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
- Exposure to data governance and master data management (MDM) practices.

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications are a plus.

Work Environment & Requirements

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight project deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during critical phases (UAT, cutover, and post-go-live).
- Solid organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed (estimated 10-20% travel).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
