Job Description: Senior Software Engineer MERN Stack
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Engineer to join our team.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing and
implementing various re-usable components and applications. You will work closely with
cross-discipline teams to ensure seamless integration of the applications built across
multiple products and solutions.
Responsibilities:
Software Development:
o Design, develop, and implement applications and components.
o Architect and develop robust APIs and microservices to support our growing
platform.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new
features.
o Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous
integration.
Technical Leadership:
o Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and expertise.
o Drive best practices in software development, including design patterns,
coding standards, and code reviews.
o Participate in architectural design discussions and propose solutions to
complex technical problems.
Database Management
o Design and implement database schemas, including SQL and NoSQL
databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
o Efficiently handle database operations and queries.
System Architecture:
o Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design
decisions.
o Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across systems and
components.
Troubleshooting and Debugging:
o Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs.
o Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, testing, and production
environments.
Project Management:




o Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to
understand business requirements and translate them into technical
requirements.
o Estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollout system
changes.
o Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, agile development
environment.
Quality Assurance:
o Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests to ensure quality.
o Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to ensure compatibility
and performance.
Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
o 5 to 6 years of qualified software development experience with a strong
focus on MERN stack.
o Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using the MERN
stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, Type Script).
o Proficiency in Java Script, HTML, CSS, and front-end technologies, with in depth knowledge of React.js, Node.js, and Express.js.
o Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.
o Proven experience in leading and mentoring software development teams.
o Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design
patterns.
o Good to have Nest Js working experience.
o Experience with microservices architecture.
o Knowledge/familiarity on containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
o Familiarity with any cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
o Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL databases
(MongoDB)
o Knowledge of any other programming language (Python, GoLang or others)
o Experience with Agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
