Role: Communication Specialist, Delhi Experience: 3-5 years Salary band: Upto 8.4 LPA ___________________________________________________ Role Overview: The Communication Specialist will work with the team to develop a communication, media, and advocacy strategy, with a focus on digital communication, to showcase work on forced migration and displacement. The Specialist will create visibility for ongoing programs and liaise with international/national networks, external interlocutors, and thematic experts across government and civil society. Key Responsibilities: Storytelling & Content Creation Ensure community stories are collected and shared ethically, prioritizing informed consent, safeguarding, and dignity. Translate lived experiences into compelling narratives for media, digital platforms, advocacy campaigns, and donor communications. Design and produce information materials (videos, testimonials, posters, digital stories, policy briefs, etc.) to support donor reporting, recruitment, fundraising, and external communication. Challenge stigma and amplify diverse experiences to highlight systemic challenges. Communications Strategy & Management Support management in drafting communications such as reports, policy briefs, media inquiries, and articles. Identify potential risks related to communications and advocacy and suggest corrective actions. Develop a social media guidance note/policy for staff members. Guide the inclusion of communication products in project outreach activities. Digital & Media Engagement Maintain and update the organisation's website, working closely with the developer regarding hosting and services.



Ensure regular media monitoring and analysis on thematic areas related to the organisation's mandates. Secure strategic engagements to promote work through media interviews, op-eds, feature articles, and partnerships. Collaboration & Events Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for storytellers to engage in advocacy or public campaigns. Identify and execute programmatic events (webinars, conferences, dialogues) and cultural exhibitions. Coordinate engagements with technical consultants, including illustrators, animators, website designers, and digital storytellers Essential Qualifications & Experience: Citizenship: Open to Indian citizens only. Education: Graduate of Mass Communications, Journalism, English Literature, Law, or a related field. Experience: At least 3-5 years of dedicated communications, networking, and advocacy experience, preferably with development and/or humanitarian organisations. Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva is necessary. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of social media best practices (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn). Valuable design, videography, and/or photography skills. Core Competencies: Exceptional writing and editorial skills (press releases, blogs, social media posts). Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail. Event planning and public speaking experience. Creative thinker with an eye for design.
