Farm Mechanisation Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and technically competent Farm Mechanization Manager to establish and manage the farm mechanization function across our agricultural operations. The role involves planning, deployment, maintenance, and effective utilization of all agricultural machinery and equipment to ensure timely farm operations, maximum equipment availability, and minimum operating costs.

The ideal candidate should combine technical knowledge with operational planning and be capable of independently managing a mechanization unit supporting large-scale farming operations.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Machinery Management

- Plan and oversee the deployment and utilization of tractors, implements, planters, cultivators, tankers, sprayers, pumps, harvest-related equipment, and other agricultural machinery.
- Ensure machinery is available at the right place and time to support farm operations efficiently.
- Monitor equipment utilization and improve productivity while minimizing idle time.

Maintenance & Reliability

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate repairs and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of servicing, repairs, spare parts, fuel consumption, and equipment performance.
- Ensure safe operation and extend the useful life of machinery through proper maintenance practices.

Workshop & Resource Management

- Manage the farm workshop, tools, spare parts inventory, and maintenance facilities.
- Plan procurement of spare parts and consumables while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
- Monitor maintenance costs and recommend measures for cost reduction.





Electrical & Irrigation Equipment

- Oversee maintenance of agricultural pumps, electrical connections, motors, and other farm utility systems.
- Coordinate with electricians, mechanics, and service providers to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Team Supervision

- Supervise tractor operators, mechanics, drivers, and other mechanization staff.
- Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to safety and maintenance standards.
- Develop operating procedures and train staff on proper equipment usage.

Planning & Performance

- Prepare machinery deployment plans based on seasonal agricultural operations.
- Track key performance indicators such as equipment availability, utilization, fuel efficiency, downtime, and maintenance costs.
- Submit regular reports and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Diploma or Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Practical experience in managing agricultural machinery and large farm operations.
- Strong understanding of tractors, farm implements, irrigation equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, pumps, and electrical systems.
- Ability to plan resources, supervise teams, and maintain operational discipline.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills.

A hands-on operations professional who views farm machinery as a productive asset—maximizing availability, minimizing downtime, controlling costs, and ensuring timely execution of every farm operation through efficient mechanization.

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹240,000.00 per year
