Satcom Support Engineer / Satcom Specialist (L1/L2)

Reporting To: Satcom Support Manager

Role Overview:
Support the design, integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of satellite communication systems across maritime, offshore, and enterprise environments — spanning VSAT, Fleet Xpress, Iridium, Thuraya, Starlink, and OneWeb networks. Candidates should bring a strong grounding in RF systems, satcom protocols, and IP networking, with proven experience across both on-site deployments and remote support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver L1/L2 technical support for VSAT, L-band, and LEO/MEO satcom services
- Monitor network and satellite terminal health; troubleshoot connectivity, modem, and antenna-alignment issues remotely
- Configure routers, modems, firewalls, and WAN optimization devices (iDirect, Peplink, Cisco, Fortinet)
- Analyze signal strength, bandwidth, latency, and packet loss for performance optimization
- Escalate complex issues to OEMs/L3 support and drive them through to resolution
- Support onboard teams during installation, commissioning, and maintenance
- Maintain ticketing, escalation notes, and service logs (Zendesk, Jira, Freshdesk)
- Coordinate with teleport/NOC teams for provisioning, beam switching,



and fault isolation
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7, mission-critical workplace

Experience & Technical Skills:

- 2–7 years in satellite communication technical support or NOC operations
- Strong understanding of VSAT systems (KVH, Hughes, Viasat) and Fleet Xpress
- Exposure to Starlink, OneWeb, or other LEO/MEO terminals is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of IP networking — TCP/IP, DHCP, NAT, VLANs — and network security
- Comfortable with Linux CLI, remote access (SSH, RDP, TeamViewer), and diagnostics (ping, traceroute, Wireshark)
- Experience in ticketing systems, technical documentation, and SLA-driven environments

Preferred Certifications:

- OEM certifications — Intellian, Cobham, KVH, Starlink, OneWeb, Iridium
- Cisco CCNA / CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
- GVF Certification (Global VSAT Forum)
- ITIL Foundation

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹95,000.00 per month
