· Evaluate patients medical condition and history to determine most suitable radiographic technique for diagnosis

· Communicate effectively with radiologists and health care professionals to ensure the message is getting across appropriately.

· Troubleshoot peripheral equipment and scanners to ensure that equipment is operating properly to avoid downtime or delays that affect patient satisfaction.

· Screen patients before examination for cardiac pacemaker, aneurysm clips, metallic stents, cochlear implants etc.

· Ensure patient safety with aseptic injection technique and pre-screening for any contra-indications before the procedure.

· Direct and supervise the activities of radiography assistants and trainee radiographers

· Maintain proper consent records of patient details ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information

· Provide training to new technologists with regular checks,



direction and qualified work samples performed by an experienced team member.

· Address patient concerns during the procedures and explain the CT & MRI process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring.

· Position patients correctly for CT & MRI examination.

· Explain examination procedures to patients while considering their physical and emotional needs.

· Perform duties in times of crisis and during emergency and overtime situations.

· Maintain CT & MRI rooms clean, protected, and organized.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines to minimize risk of exposure to ionizing radiation

Participate in quality assurance and improvements programs of the department.
