Camera Man (News Channel) – Roles & Responsibilities

Position: News Camera Person / Video Journalist (Cameraman)

Key Responsibilities:

- Cover news events, press conferences, interviews, field reports, and live news assignments with proper camera techniques.
- Operate professional cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting equipment, and other production equipment.
- Capture high-quality video footage as per news channel standards.
- Ensure proper framing, focus, exposure, composition, and audio quality during shoots.
- Coordinate with reporters, anchors, and the editorial team to understand story requirements.
- Reach assigned locations on time and manage field coverage efficiently.
- Record breaking news, on-ground situations, and special reports with accuracy and professionalism.
- Maintain backup of recorded footage and ensure timely transfer of files to the editing team.
- Support live reporting setups including camera positioning and technical coordination.
- Follow editorial guidelines, shooting ethics,



and safety protocols during field assignments.
- Maintain and handle camera equipment responsibly; report any technical issues immediately.
- Capture creative visuals (B-rolls, establishing shots, and supporting footage) to enhance news stories.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency news situations when required.
- Coordinate with the video editor for smooth workflow and final output quality.

Required Skills:

- Good knowledge of professional cameras and shooting techniques.
- Understanding of lighting, sound, and composition.
- Ability to work under pressure during live news coverage.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in news, media, documentary, or digital content production preferred.

Reporting To: News Editor / Chief Editor / Assignment Head.

Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
