Job Title: Cost Controller

Reporting To: Finance Manager

Job Summary:

The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs across retail operations. This role ensures accurate cost tracking, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and supports profitability through effective financial planning and control. The position works closely with operations, procurement, and store teams to maintain financial discipline and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and control operational costs across all retail stores and departments
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, variance analysis, and profitability statements
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly expenses and highlight deviations from budget
- Develop and implement cost control procedures and policies
- Work closely with procurement to control purchase costs and vendor pricing
- Ensure proper inventory valuation and cost allocation
- Analyze stock movement, wastage, and shrinkage to minimize losses
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Conduct periodic audits of expenses, stock, and operational processes
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls




- Assist in pricing strategies by providing cost insights and margin analysis
- Coordinate with store managers and operations team for cost optimization

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field (CA/ CMA/ MBA preferred)
- 3–7 years of experience in cost control, finance, or accounting (retail experience preferred)
- Solid knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and coordination skills
