Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment. The role involves planning and executing preventive and breakdown maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime, improving machine reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
- Monitor machine performance and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, equipment history, and service records.
- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and coordinate procurement when required.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and modification of recent machinery.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA)



for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction in maintenance operations.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience

- 3–8 years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the metal, steel, lead recycling, or heavy manufacturing industry.
