Your future duties and responsibilities

Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Expert to support the Genesis Food Enterprise Data Transformation Program, a strategic initiative focused on modernizing and standardizing enterprise data across commercial and supply chain domains. The SAP Data Expert will serve as the bridge between SAP business processes and the enterprise data architecture, helping translate SAP data structures into standardized enterprise data models and reusable data products. This role requires deep knowledge of SAP functional processes, data models, and integration patterns, along with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams to simplify complex ERP data landscapes.

Key Responsibilities
SAP Data Analysis & Domain Expertise

- Analyze SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA data structures across key business processes including Order-to-Cash and Supply Chain Management.
- Interpret SAP tables, relationships, master data, and transactional data to support enterprise data modeling activities.
- Identify business meaning, lineage, and dependencies within SAP data structures.
- Document SAP data flows and integration points across enterprise applications.

Enterprise Data Standardization

- Partner with Data Architects to map SAP data models to enterprise logical and conceptual data models.
- Identify opportunities to standardize business definitions and harmonize SAP data across regions and business units.
- Support the creation of reusable canonical data structures that reduce duplication and improve consistency.
- Define source-to-target mappings between SAP and enterprise data products.

Business Process & Stakeholder Engagement

- Collaborate with business SMEs, SAP functional leads, product owners, and technology teams to understand current-state processes and future-state data needs.
- Facilitate workshops to validate SAP business processes, data definitions, and transformation requirements.




- Translate complex SAP technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Document assumptions, risks, dependencies, and business decisions.

Data Governance & Quality

- Support identification of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) within SAP.
- Partner with Data Governance teams to establish business definitions, ownership, and quality rules for SAP-derived data.
- Assist in defining validation rules and reconciliation processes for enterprise data products.
- Promote consistent metadata, lineage, and traceability across SAP data assets.

Transformation & Delivery Support

- Provide SAP expertise during design, implementation, and validation of enterprise data products.
- Support engineering teams by clarifying SAP data structures and business logic.
- Assist in evaluating impacts of SAP upgrades, process changes, and new capabilities on enterprise data assets.
- Contribute to implementation planning and prioritization activities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Required Qualifications

- 8–12+ years of experience working with SAP ERP (ECC and/or S/4HANA).
- Deep understanding of SAP business processes and underlying data models.
- Experience across one or more functional domains including Sales & Distribution (primary) (SD), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Finance (FI/CO), Warehouse Management (WM/EWM), or Supply Chain.
- Robust understanding of SAP master data and transactional data relationships.
- Experience supporting enterprise data initiatives, analytics, or data modernization programs.




- Ability to communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
- Familiarity with enterprise data modeling and logical data architecture.
- Experience with SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, or SAP data extraction technologies.
- Knowledge of enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices.
- Experience supporting cloud data platforms and modern analytics architectures.
- Experience in the Food & Agriculture, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain industrie
