Senior Designer - Disposable Plastic Design

Job Summary
Essential Responsibilities
• Conceptualize and create mechanical designs for New Products and/or Installed Base mechanical components & subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles.
• Work on industrial grade plastics/polymers and their design & manufacturing principles & tool development
• Create & review engineering drawings, understand GD&T; principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection & selection of manufacturing processes
• Hands on 3D CAD modelling tool ( Creo/ Pro-E) for design and development of mechanical components and sub systems
• Develop test plans & perform testing & verification of designs
• Engaging in all phases of product development, including documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.

Qualifications/Requirements
• B.S/ B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design
• Must have experience in Medical device industry
• Strong expertise in mechanism design, manufacturing drawings, tolerance stack up, calculations
• Very good expertise in plastics/polymers and their design & manufacturing principles
• Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task




• Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Global project experience
• Design for manufacturing experience.

Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate With Stakeholders To Gather And Refine Design Requirements, Ensuring Alignment With Customer Expectations And Project Goals In Disposable Plastic Design.
2. Develop Prototypes And Proof-Of-Concept Implementations Using Cad Software To Validate Design Decisions And Enhance Functionality.
3. Mentor Junior Designers By Sharing Knowledge And Expertise Through Training Sessions And Documentation, Fostering A Culture Of Continuous Learning And Improvement.
4. Work With Cross-Functional Teams To Ensure Software Design Compatibility With Overall Project Objectives, Facilitating Smooth Integration Of Disposable Plastic Elements.
5. Partner With Quality Assurance Teams To Establish And Uphold High Quality Standards In Design Deliverables, Ensuring Compliance With Industry Regulations And Sustainability Practices.

Skill Requirements
1. Solid Understanding Of Disposable Plastic Design Principles And Methodologies.
2. Proficiency In Cad Software For Product Design And Prototyping.
3. Good Knowledge Of Materials And Manufacturing Processes Related To Disposable Plastic Products.
4. Familiarity With Sustainability Considerations In Design And Materials Selection.
5. Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Engage With Various Stakeholders.

Other Requirements
1. Certification In Product Design Or Related Field Is Optional But Valuable.
