About the role
Sulzer is a global leader in critical applications for core infrastructure and processes for large essential industries around the world. In the Netherlands all Sulzer Divisions - Services, Flow and Chemtech - are represented and spread over 3 locations in Lomm / Venlo, Maastricht and Breda. We are looking for an experienced Head of HR / Senior HR Business Partner to lead and further develop our HR function in the Netherlands. In this role, you will be the senior HR leader for the country, combining strategic HR business partnering with hands-on operational responsibility. You will lead a small HR team and act as a trusted advisor to local management, ensuring that people strategies support business objectives while maintaining strong compliance with Dutch labor law and HR best practices. This also includes guiding and supporting the entire employee’s lifecycle, ensuring a positive and compliant experience for both employees and managers.

Your responsibilities:
• Lead HR Operations and support strategic initiatives
• Lead Talent Development, Performance Management and Employee Relations (Works Council in our Lomm location)
• Partner with leadership to implement global and local HR initiatives that align with business objectives and operational needs




• Facilitate the further use and adoption of Workday and integration of various HR processes into the new system
• Ensure suitable communication on HR related information to our employees and local management, using our company media channels and via (online) presentations
• Drive engagement programs translating Sulzer Global initiatives into local actions and follow up, together with the HR team
• Ensure adherence to company policies, local labor laws, and best practices
• Work closely together with our international HR team and our outsourced payroll partner

To succeed in this role, you will need:
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources or business administration
• At least 7 years of working experience in a comparable HR role, preferably in an industrial environment and/ or within an international matrix organization
• Experience with leading with resilience in a changing setting
• System experience with AFAS and specifically Workday is a strong pro
• Knowledge of and/ or experience with Dutch collective labor Agreements Metalektro and/ or Metaal en Techniek is preferred
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Dutch is a must-have
• Affinity with the use of (internal) social media
• Hands-on, curious, outgoing and team-oriented personality
