POSITION : INFECTION CONTROL NURSE
REPORTING TO : MANAGER - QUALITY & NURSING
QUALIFICATION : GNM AS WELL AS TRAINING ON INFECTION CONTROL PRACTICES
EXPERIENCE : 3-7 YEARS IN HEALTHCARE
DRESS CODE : SPECIFIED DRESS CODE WITH I.D. CARD
DUTY HOURS : AS PER SCHEDULED REQUIREMENTS

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key areas of responsibility:

As Infection Control Nurse:
1)Assign duties and responsibilities for infection control activities.
2)Maintain surveillance of all hospital areas and laboratory data related to infection control.
3)Perform a variety of qualified duties involved in the prevention and control of nosocomial infection.
4)Conduct regular rounds in all departments to discuss, monitor and ensure that staffs are following the infection control guidelines.




5)To monitor the implementation of the Hospital infection control policy.
6)To monitor the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization practices.
7)To identify the infection rate in the high risk areas.
8)Monitor and audit the hand washing practices.
9)Surveillance activities related to infection control.
10)Plan and co-ordinate hospital - wide education program in infection control for all staff.
11)Participate in the infection control training program to update the knowledge.

Any other work assigned by the Medical Director/HOD/management from time to time.
