Duties and Responsibilities
Hands-on expertise across Windows and Linux environments, virtualisation platforms, cloud technologies, storage, backup, identity management, and security tooling — ensuring high availability, security compliance, and operational excellence across the organisation's IT estate.

Wintel & Linux Server Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) across physical and virtual environments, including builds, decommissions, and capacity planning. Troubleshoot OS-level issues and manage configurations via PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.

Virtualisation
Administer VMware vSphere/ESXi and Nutanix AHV environments, managing vCenter, Prism Central/Element, VM provisioning, resource optimisation, snapshots, and hypervisor upgrades.

AWS & Cloud Technologies
Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and CloudWatch. Support hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN/Direct Connect), cloud cost optimisation, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation. Administer cloud workloads and assist in lift-and-shift or cloud-native migration projects.

Patch Management
Own the end-to-end patching lifecycle for Windows, Linux, and virtualisation platforms using WSUS, SCCM, or equivalent tooling, including scheduling, change coordination, and post-patch validation.

Storage Administration




Manage SAN, NAS, and DAS infrastructure including provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance tuning, and capacity planning across platforms such as NetApp, Dell EMC, or Pure Storage.

Backup & Restoration
Administer enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas), enforce retention policies, conduct regular restore tests, and manage recovery requests within RTO/RPO objectives.

Active Directory & Microsoft 365
Manage AD (GPOs, OUs, DNS/DHCP), Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams), Azure AD Connect, and hybrid identity environments.

Networking & Load Balancing
Administer AVI Networks (VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer) for application delivery, virtual service management, health monitoring, and SSL termination across on-premises and cloud environments. Collaborate with network teams on VLAN management, firewall rules, and connectivity between on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

SSO, Security & DNS Tools
Administer Okta (SSO/MFA), CyberArk (PAM/vaulting), Duo (MFA), Qualys (vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking), and Microsoft Intune (endpoint compliance and policy management). Manage Infoblox for enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI), ensuring accurate IP address management, DNS zone administration, and DHCP scope management across the setting.

Monitoring & Alerting
Deploy and maintain PRTG and Nagios monitoring, define alerting thresholds and dashboards, respond proactively to infrastructure alerts, and drive root cause analysis for recurring incidents.
