Job Title: Material Procurement Engineer

Location: Sangareddy, Hyderabad.

Department: Supply Chain / Procurement

Reports To: Procurement Manager / Operations Head

Job Summary

The Material Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring mechanical, electrical, and raw materials required for production. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at optimal cost while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting new product development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

● Identify and develop reliable vendors for sheet metal parts, machined components, electrical parts, and packaging materials.

● Float RFQs, analyze quotations, and finalize suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery.

● Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times with vendors.

Vendor Management

● Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.

● Develop alternate vendors to reduce dependency and risk.

● Coordinate with vendors for sample development and approvals.

Material Planning & Coordination

● Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production plan.

● Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams for material specifications and approvals.

● Track and expedite critical materials to avoid production delays.

Technical Support

● Read and understand engineering drawings (2D & 3D).

● Work closely with design teams for cost optimization and manufacturability.





● Support new product development by sourcing prototype components.

Cost Control & Optimization

● Perform cost analysis and implement cost reduction strategies.

● Maintain BOM cost tracking and procurement budgets.

Documentation & Compliance

● Maintain purchase orders, vendor records, and procurement reports.

● Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering.

● 2–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing or EV industry.

Required Skills

● Strong knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, machining, and electrical components.

● Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.

● Positive negotiation and communication skills.

● Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.

● Vendor development and cost analysis skills.

Preferred Skills

● Experience in EV industry or battery systems procurement.

● Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.

● Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
