About the role
Smart Vision Eye Hospitals is a leading multi-specialty eye care chain committed to delivering world-class ophthalmic care. We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Optometrist to join our clinical team. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing visual conditions, and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, slit-lamp examination, and fundus evaluation.
- Diagnose and manage refractive errors, binocular vision disorders, amblyopia, and other anterior segment conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses (spectacles and contact lenses) and provide appropriate optical aids based on patient needs.
- Perform pre- and post-operative assessments for LASIK, cataract surgery, retina procedures, and other surgical interventions.
- Operate and interpret results from diagnostic equipment such as OCT, auto-refractometer, keratometer, perimeter, and corneal topographer.
- Screen patients for systemic conditions with ocular manifestations such as diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid disorders; refer appropriately.
- Counsel patients on eye health, lifestyle modifications, spectacle hygiene, contact lens care, and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Hospital Information System (HIS)
/ EMR as per hospital protocols.
- Support outreach and vision screening camps organized by Smart Vision Eye Hospitals.
- Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, opticians, and paramedical staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Required qualifications
- B.Optom (Bachelor of Optometry) from a recognized university
- Preferred people with good amount of knowledge in opticals.
- Valid registration with the Telangana/AP Paramedical Board or equivalent state council
- 1–4 years of clinical optometry experience (freshers with solid internship background encouraged to apply)
- Proficiency in refraction, contact lens fitting, and ophthalmic equipment operation
- Good communication skills in English and Telugu/Hindi
Preferred qualification
- Experience in a high-volume eye hospital or super-specialty eye care setup
- Hands-on experience with OCT, corneal topography, visual field analysis, and A-scan biometry
- Familiarity with EMR/HIS systems
- Interest in pediatric optometry, low vision rehabilitation, or community eye health

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
