Senior Purchase Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Purchase Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, engineering components, consumables, packaging materials, and services. The role involves vendor development, contract negotiations, inventory optimization, and coordination with production, planning, stores, quality, and finance teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process.
- Source raw materials, engineering components, consumables, packaging materials, and capital equipment.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base through vendor identification, evaluation, and onboarding.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and supplier performance.
- Ensure timely release and follow-up of purchase orders.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Finance for procurement planning.
- Manage procurement budgets and achieve annual cost reduction targets.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.




- Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues effectively.
- Maintain procurement MIS, reports, and documentation.
- Lead and mentor the purchase team while driving process improvements.

Required Skills

- Robust negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement planning and inventory control.
- Experience in strategic sourcing and cost optimization.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (ERPNext/SAP/Tally or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing procurement.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and priorities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management.
- MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain or Operations is preferred.

Experience

- 8–12 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
