About the Role

Articulus Surgical is looking for a Wiring Harness Engineer to join our Electronics & Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will own the complete wiring harness development lifecycle for advanced robotic systems—from design and prototyping to manufacturing and production support. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external manufacturing partners to deliver robust, production-ready harness solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop wiring harnesses for robotic and electromechanical systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and system engineering teams to define routing, interface, and packaging requirements.
- Select suitable cables, connectors, shielding, sleeves, and other interconnect components for power, signal, communication, and high-flex applications.
- Develop wiring schematics, harness layouts, wire lists, pin configuration drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, revision history, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Coordinate with external harness manufacturers during prototype and production builds.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI), production validation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot harness-related issues during system integration, testing, and field deployments.
- Evaluate alternate components and support production continuity through effective component planning.
- Drive continuous improvements in harness quality, manufacturability, reliability,



and cost.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience designing wiring harnesses for robotics, automation, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or other electromechanical products.
- Strong understanding of wiring harness design principles, cable routing, connector systems, shielding, grounding, and wire protection.
- Experience working with external wiring harness manufacturing partners.
- Ability to manage harness development from prototype through production.
- Solid documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with robotic systems or medical devices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, FAI processes, and production support.
- Experience with revision control, BOM management, and ECO processes.
- Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Familiarity with relevant electrical and wiring standards.
