Job Summary And Responsibilities
The role is responsible for analyzing defects, troubleshooting production issues, proposing technical fixes, and implementing solutions within defined turnaround times. The candidate will work closely with Technical Leads, Architects, and team members to understand functional requirements, convert use cases into programming logic, and deliver quality code as per organizational coding standards.
The position involves hands-on development and support activities using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Developer, TOAD, Oracle 12C, and related database technologies. The candidate will also participate in code reviews, release and deployment activities, status reporting, and adherence to SDLC processes and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze defects, identify root causes, propose fixes, and implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or production issues within minimum turnaround time.
- Write, modify, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries.
- Work on performance tuning, materialized views, data dictionaries, and bulk collect concepts.
- Convert functional requirements and use cases into pseudocode, programming logic, and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads, Architects, and team members to prepare detailed design documents.
- Develop code for assigned functionality as per defined coding standards.
- Perform code reviews to prevent defects and improve code quality.
- Support release and deployment activities.
- Use tools such as SVN and JIRA for configuration management, issue tracking, and delivery coordination.
- Provide clear and timely status updates to the reporting manager.
- Follow SDLC methodologies, organizational processes, and policies.
- Support operations-related activities,
including weekend work when required.
Job Requirements And Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in operations support work is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong programming experience in Oracle PL/SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle 12C, SQL Developer, TOAD, MySQL, and advanced SQL.
- Experience in writing and modifying Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries.
- Strong understanding of bulk collect concepts, data dictionaries, materialized views, and performance tuning.
- Good knowledge of SVN configuration management tool.
- Good understanding of JIRA for defect tracking and workflow management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of SDLC methodologies.
- Ability to understand functional requirements and use cases and convert them into technical logic.
Preferred Skills
- Domain knowledge of US Healthcare is preferred.
- Experience working in production support or operations support environments.
- Ability to work on issue resolution, defect analysis, and deployment support.
