1. Role Overview
We are looking for a Legal Drafting Associate with experience in Banking & Finance laws, Insolvency, Commercial Litigation, and Recovery matters. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and vetting legal documentation, drafting pleadings across multiple judicial forums, and supporting litigation involving banking and financial institutions.
The ideal candidate should possess strong drafting skills, sound legal research capabilities, and practical exposure to banking documentation, recovery laws, and insolvency proceedings. 3. - Key Responsibilities
- Draft loan agreements, security documents, guarantees, mortgage deeds, hypothecation deeds, and related banking documentation.
- Vet and review loan documentation and security creation documents.
- Prepare debt restructuring documentation, including restructuring agreements and OTS/CDR proposals.
- Draft applications and pleadings under the SARFAESI Act, including proceedings under Sections 13, 14, and 17.
- Prepare applications, replies, rejoinders, and pleadings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
- Draft plaints, written statements, recovery suits, and commercial litigation pleadings.
- Prepare arbitration pleadings, statements of claim, statements of defence, and related applications.
- Draft writ petitions, appeals,
Special Leave Petitions (SLPs), and other pleadings before the High Courts and Supreme Court.
- Assist in documentation relating to project finance transactions.
- Draft pleadings and legal responses under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
- Conduct legal research, case-law analysis, and prepare legal notes supporting litigation and advisory matters.
- Work independently while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to deadlines.
- LL.B. from a National Law University (NLU) or an institution of equivalent standing.
- Candidates from other recognized law schools with relevant practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
- 3 5 years of legal drafting experience in a law firm or under a senior advocate handling banking and financial matters.
