Job Summary

The Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, communication, voice, cognitive-communication, feeding, and swallowing disorders. The role involves providing evidence-based therapy, developing individualized treatment plans, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive assessments for speech, language, voice, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation and patient needs.
- Provide speech, language, voice, feeding, and swallowing therapy for pediatric and adult patients.
- Evaluate and manage dysphagia and recommend protected swallowing techniques and dietary modifications.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on outcomes.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and family members regarding therapy goals and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, assessment reports, therapy notes, and discharge summaries.




- Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, dietitians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and rehabilitation planning.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical clinical practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) (Mandatory)
- Master's Degree (MASLP/M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology) preferred.
- Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is mandatory (India).
