Job Title: Medical Coder/Senior Medical Coder

Specialization: Neurology

Job Summary: A Neurology Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing medical records related to neurological disorders and procedures and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes for billing, reimbursement, and compliance purposes. The coder ensures that all coding is completed according to healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and industry standards

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of neurological diseases and procedures.
- Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to interpret physician documentation and code accurately in both ICDs and CPTs.
- Effective communication skills for provider queries.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance and reimbursement methodologies.




- Proficiency in coding software and MS Office applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and analyze neurology patient records, physician notes, operative reports, diagnostic reports and code accurately as per the documentation.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, and HCPCS codes, modifiers, and units.
- Should be aware of LCD, MUE, and all the conventions of CPTs and ICDs.
- Should be aware of neurology-specific procedures
- Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.
- Participate in coding audits and quality reviews.
- Stay updated on coding guideline changes and neurology-related reimbursement policies.
