Duty Medical Officer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Provide medical care to patients in the Emergency Department (ER), inpatient wards, and other assigned clinical areas. Assess, diagnose, stabilize, and initiate treatment for emergency and admitted patients. Perform routine medical examinations, patient assessments, and clinical procedures within the scope of practice. Monitor patient progress and promptly escalate critical cases to the respective consultants. Attend medical emergencies, Code Blue, and other emergency situations as per hospital protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets, treatment notes, and discharge summaries. Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, and other departments for effective patient management. Ensure timely documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS). Follow hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols. Participate in clinical meetings, CMEs, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure smooth patient handover during shift changes.



Perform any additional clinical responsibilities assigned by the Medical Superintendent. Qualifications & Experience MBBS from a recognized institution. Valid NMC / State Medical Council Registration. Freshers to 2 years of clinical experience are eligible to apply. Experience in Emergency Medicine or inpatient care will be an added advantage. Skills & Competencies Sound clinical knowledge and decision-making skills. Ability to manage medical emergencies effectively. Positive communication and interpersonal skills. Strong documentation and clinical record-keeping skills. Basic knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and MS Office. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Willingness to work in Emergency Department (ER), wards, and other clinical units as assigned. Commitment to long-term employment and professional growth within the organization. Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations efficiently.
