As a Financial Data Migration Developer, you will work closely with Finance, IT, Business Analysts, and Application teams to support financial data migration activities across transformation programmes.
You will be responsible for analysing, cleansing, transforming, validating, and reconciling complex financial datasets, ensuring data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
The role requires both technical expertise and the ability to understand financial processes and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and maintain data migration solutions that support iterative data cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and migration activities.
- Analyse and profile source financial data across sales orders, customer records, GL balances, AP/AR, deferred revenue, trial balance, and other key financial datasets.
- Write, optimise, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and reconcile large volumes of data.
- Design and implement data mapping between legacy and target financial systems, including chart of accounts, cost centres, and financial dimensions.
- Document mapping rules, transformation logic, assumptions, and identified data quality issues.
- Perform detailed reconciliation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated financial data.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, anomalies, and quality issues in partnership with Finance stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear and understandable business language.
- Support testing activities, including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in mock migrations, dress rehearsals, cutover activities, and post-migration validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones to ensure successful project delivery.
