Key Responsibilities
- Source annual reports, audited financial statements, and interim financials from company websites, central bank portals, regulatory filings, and platforms such as Capital IQ.
- Perform financial spreading — accurately entering balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow data into credit platforms such as Moody's Credit Lens or Fact Set.
- Compute and interpret key credit metrics: interest coverage, debt service coverage, leverage, liquidity, and profitability ratios (ROA, ROE, NIM), and — for banks — capital adequacy (Tier 1 / CET1), asset quality (NPL ratios, provisioning), and liquidity (LCR, NSFR).
- Apply the CAMELS methodology for financial institutions and profitability/solvency/earnings analysis for corporate entities.
- Conduct qualitative research: business model, products, market presence, ownership structure, and external ratings from S&P;, Moody's, and Fitch.
- Perform covenant testing — verifying client compliance with defined financial thresholds and flagging breaches.
- Draft transparent, well-structured credit review reports identifying the key drivers of changes in financial performance, for consumption by credit officers.
- Complete financial institution reviews while meeting quality and turnaround SLAs.
- Maintain review records and workflow status in systems such as Salesforce or equivalent credit workflow tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field;
MBA (Finance), CA (Inter), CFA Level I/II.
- 3–7 years of experience in credit analysis, counterparty risk, ratings support, or financial spreading — ideally within banking, KPO/credit research, or a rating agency environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and bank/corporate financial ratios.
- Hands-on exposure to at least one spreading or data platform: Moody's Credit Lens, Fact Set, Capital IQ, S&P; Capital IQ Pro, or equivalent.
- Advanced Excel skills (financial models, ratio templates).
- Strong written English — ability to produce concise, analytical credit commentary.
