Safety Officer
The Safety Officer will ensure full compliance with Indian statutory regulations and
international best practices for Biogas, Green Hydrogen, and Solar EPC projects. You will
lead risk assessments, enforce Permit -to -Work (PTW) systems, conduct specialized safety
training, and build a zero -incident safety culture at project sites across India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hazard Management & Risk Assessment: Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRA, HAZOP, and Quantitative Risk
Assessment (QRA) for high -risk activities including explosive gas handling and
working at height.
- Gas & Process Safety: Ensure protected handling, storage, and transportation of Biogas and Green Hydrogen as
per PESO, Gas Cylinder Rules, and Explosives Act. Manage gas detection, ventilation, hazardous area classification (Zone 0/1/2), and
confined space safety.
- Electrical & Site Safety: Enforce CEA regulations, Lockout -Tagout (LOTO), lifting operations, and safety
protocols during solar module installation, inverter commissioning, and grid
integration.
- Regulatory Compliance & Emergency Preparedness: Ensure adherence to Factories Act, Petroleum Rules, PESO, BIS, and Hazardous
Waste Management Rules. Develop On -site Emergency Plans and conduct regular mock drills for gas leaks,
hydrogen fires, and electrical emergencies.
- Training & Audits: Lead Toolbox Talks, deliver specialized training (gas, electrical, confined space,
height work), and conduct internal safety audits. Promote a strong safety culture through behavioural safety programs.
Required Qualifications & Skills or Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or
Environmental Science.
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS/PDIS) – highly preferred.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent – strongly preferred.
- First Aid, Fire Fighting, and HAZOP/QRA training will be an advantage.
