Job Title SMART 400 Group Asia Senior Developer IBM i AS400 Job Type Contract Permanent Experience Level Mid to Senior Department IT Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated Senior Developer to support our Group Asia SMART 400 systems The ideal candidate brings proven technical competence and a strong understanding of insurance business processes and is comfortable handling multiple ongoing projects alongside day-to-day operational support You ll be a key contributor in maintaining and enhancing core applications while working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate system integrations that support evolving business needs This role requires a clear communicator a strong team player and someone who can navigate complexity with confidence and precision Key Responsibilities Develop enhance and maintain SMART 400 applications within the Group Asiaplatform ensuring stability and scalability Provide consistent BAU Business-As-Usual support including day-end and month-end batch processes issue resolution and production troubleshooting Engage in multiple projects concurrently balancing development deliverables andoperational priorities Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including integration specialists business analysts and application stakeholders to support seamless end-to-end business workflows Assist in integrating various business functions and front-end applications with core backend systems using technologies such as Business Objects and MQ Document technical solutions clearly and maintain system artifacts for traceability and audit purposes Participate in SIT UAT phases by identifying resolving and preventing defects related to application functionality and integration Provide expert input in architecture reviews system design discussions and quality assurance initiatives Continuously improve system performance maintainability and user experience based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business needs Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences to ensure alignment across teams Required Qualifications A degree in Computer Science Information Technology Computing Engineering ora closely related field Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in Group Asia SMART 400 systemdevelopment and support Proven experience in COBOL CL SQL DB2 Proficiency in Application design and development Production issue resolution and BAU support SIT UAT troubleshooting and support Day-End and Month-End batch processing Business Objects implementation and maintenance Clear and confident communication and writing skills In-depth understanding of Group Asia application modules including New Business Receipting Payment Policy Alteration Lapse Surrender Claims Maturity Agent Commission etc Familiarity with application interfaces involving Business Objects BO and MessageQueuing MQ Experience working with source code repositories e g Git SVN and knowledge of basic DevOps practices is a plus Awareness of integration protocols e g SOAP REST sFTP MQ and their application in multi-system environments is an added advantage Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with modern integration tools and protocols such as MQ SOAP REST and sFTP especially in hybrid legacy-to-modern transitions Working knowledge of source control systems e g Git SVN and collaborative development workflows Exposure to DevOps concepts particularly around deployment automation and environment management in a mainframe context Experience in insurance or financial services with an understanding of end-to-end business processes and compliance considerations Understanding of system architecture and batch job orchestration in enterprise environments What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits Adaptable working hours options Collaborative and inclusive team culture Opportunities for professional growth and development Job Type Full-time Pay 200 000 00 - 285 000 00 per month Schedule Day shift Ability to commute relocate Bengaluru Vishwavidyalaya Bengaluru Karnataka Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package Required Experience AS400 5 years Required Language English Required
