Job Summary The Hospital Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records preparing financial statements managing budgets and ensuring compliance with internal controls and healthcare financial regulations The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in internal or external auditing ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and assisting with audit preparedness and execution Key Responsibilities Accounting Financial Reporting Prepare review and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and healthcare financial regulations Manage general ledger entries account reconciliations and journal postings Maintain records of accounts payable and receivable patient billing insurance claims and payroll Monitor and manage hospital budgets expenditures and cost allocations Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings Audit Compliance Support internal and external audit processes including documentation data provision and audit query resolution Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls and compliance with hospital policies and health regulations Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions for financial and operational weaknesses Assist in preparing audit reports and working papers Ensure compliance with local tax laws healthcare regulations and hospital financial policies Budgeting Financial Planning Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads Track budget performance and report variances with recommendations for corrective action Contribute to financial planning cost control initiatives and resource optimization Systems Processes Use hospital financial management systems e g SAP QuickBooks or specialized hospital ERP systems for data entry analysis and reporting Recommend and implement improvements in financial processes and systems Maintain documentation of financial policies procedures and internal controls Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field CPA CA ACCA preferred Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment At least 1-2 years of audit experience internal or external audit Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines Preferred Skills Attributes Experience with healthcare ERP systems e g Meditech Epic Oracle Health Understanding of IFRS or local GAAP and healthcare-specific financial standards Robust communication skills to liaise with auditors department heads and external agencies Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Job Type Full-time Pay 25 000 00 - 30 000 00 per month Language English Preferred Work Location In person
