About The Role We are looking for a YouTube Manager to own our channel end to end - strategy, content pipeline, packaging, publishing, community and growth. This is a builder’s role, not a scheduler’s role: you decide what gets made, why it gets made, and you answer for the numbers. Be clear on what you are taking on.
The channel publishes inconsistently, has no format that reliably works yet, and has never been tested systematically on titles or thumbnails. You are not inheriting a machine - you are building one, with budget, executive backing and mandate to reach 1,00,000+ subscribers while turning views into qualified parent enquiries. You will work with brand and communications, content and editorial, performance marketing, admissions and counselling, and academic staff, and manage a bench of scriptwriters, editors, designers and on-camera talent.
Key Responsibilities Channel strategy & roadmap Own the annual and quarterly plan: content pillars, format mix, publishing cadence and growth milestones.
Decide the long-form vs. Shorts split - and defend it with retention and discovery data.
Maintain a rolling 90-day calendar tied to admissions cycles, exam seasons and campaign priorities. Content development & production Source concepts from real parent and student search intent, not internal opinion.
Brief and manage scriptwriters, editors, motion designers and presenters; hold quality and turnaround standards.
Run shoots end to end - studio, remote and on-location - including talent coordination with faculty, counsellors, students and parents.
Build a production SOP that lets output scale without quality falling. Packaging & YouTube SEO Own titles, thumbnails, hooks, descriptions, chapters, end screens and playlists.
Run structured title and thumbnail tests, and let CTR data change what you do next.
Feed keyword and topic research (YouTube search, Google Trends, vidIQ / TubeBuddy, GSC)
into the pipeline rather than bolting it on afterwards. Growth, community & distribution Design series that compound views, instead of publishing one-off uploads.
Manage comments, community posts, polls and premieres; build an engaged parent community.
Repurpose into Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, and coordinate paid amplification with the performance team.
Identify and execute collaborations with educators, parenting creators and partners.
Analytics & reporting Own the channel dashboard: views, watch time, average view duration, retention curves, CTR, subscriber velocity, traffic sources.
Report monthly on what worked, what did not, your hypothesis for why, and what changes next.
Track the downstream line - site visits, enquiries and admissions traceable to YouTube.
Requirements 3-6 years running YouTube channels, with a portfolio of channels you personally grew - we will ask for the numbers and for how much of the growth was yours.
Real fluency in the levers (CTR, average view duration, session time) and what to change when each one moves - not just familiarity with YouTube Studio.
Editorial instinct: you can explain why a title works, why a thumbnail fails, and where in a video the audience leaves.
Hands-on craft: you can write or heavily reshape a script, and know Premiere / Final Cut / CapCut and Canva / Figma well enough to direct, review and unblock.
Comfort with data: you build your own reports and let them change your mind.
The temperament for a trust category - education content that overpromises does real damage, and you need to want to get it right. Valuable to Have Edtech, education, parenting or another high-consideration, trust-heavy category.
Multi-country audiences (India, GCC, SEA, Africa) and multilingual or localised content.
Shorts-first growth, plus live streams, webinars or podcast formats.
UTM tracking, lead generation and marketing attribution.
On-camera ability, or a track record of developing presenters.
