Job Summary The Information Technology (IT) Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging IT lessons that develop students' digital literacy, computational thinking, and practical computer skills. The teacher will create a positive learning environment while integrating technology into teaching and learning in accordance with the school's curriculum and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver Information Technology lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach computer fundamentals, digital literacy, programming, networking, database concepts, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (where applicable), and productivity software.
- Develop students' practical and theoretical understanding of Information Technology.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies and educational technology into classroom instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Encourage creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.
Asset & Evaluations
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and practical exercises.
- Conduct periodic assessments, practical examinations, and classroom evaluations.
- Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and student progress reports.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare students for board examinations, competitions, and certification programmes where applicable.
Computer Laboratory Management
- Supervise students during practical sessions in the computer laboratory.
- Ensure safe and responsible use of computers, software, and internet resources.
- Maintain laboratory discipline and proper utilization of IT equipment.
- Report hardware, software, and network issues to the concerned authority.
- Assist in maintaining an updated inventory of computer laboratory resources.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in school assemblies, meetings, parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and career development programmes.
- Assist in organizing IT-related events, exhibitions, coding competitions, robotics activities, digital literacy programmes, and technology awareness campaigns.
- Support teachers in integrating technology into classroom teaching.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- B.Ed. ( NOT Mandatory )
- Master's Degree in Computer Science/IT (Preferred).
- Relevant certifications in programming, networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, or AI are desirable.
Experience
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge may apply.
- 25 years of teaching experience in a recognized school is preferred.
- Experience with CBSE, ICSE, State Board, or other recognized curricula is an advantage.
