We are looking for a highly skilled Camera Operator (Videographer) who is passionate about documentary filmmaking and visual storytelling. This is a production-first role, with the majority of your time spent planning and executing shoots in diverse on-location environments.

From artisan workshops and heritage sites to remote villages and cultural institutions, you will be responsible for capturing authentic stories in real-world conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in dynamic environments, can adapt quickly to changing locations and lighting conditions, and has a strong eye for cinematic storytelling. While video editing is part of the role, the primary focus is on producing exceptional footage in the field.

Location: Remote (Preferred: New Delhi, India)

Salary range: Fixed contract of Rs.40k per month (Rs. 2.4 Lacs for 6 months)

Travel Extensive travel across India is mandatory. The role requires frequent travel (typically 10–20 days at a time) to document artists, workshops, cultural institutions, and craft clusters across the country.

Editing work may also be included but is secondary to your cinematography portfolio. A list of the camera, lenses, audio equipment, lighting, gimbals, drones (if applicable), and other production gear you own or regularly use.

Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to capture compelling stories in real-world environments, showcasing strong composition, camera movement, lighting, and documentary-style filmmaking.

Key Responsibilities: Production (Primary Responsibility) Lead on-ground video production for documentaries, masterclasses, artist profiles, interviews, and branded content. Capture high-quality footage in workshops, homes, studios, villages, heritage sites, and other real-world locations, often under challenging shooting conditions. Film detailed craft-making processes with precision, ensuring important techniques and narratives are documented effectively.

Record interviews using professional lighting and audio setups while creating a comfortable environment for subjects. Capture cinematic B-roll that enhances storytelling and showcases people, places, processes, and culture. Independently operate cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, audio recorders, tripods, gimbals, and other production gear.

Make creative decisions on framing, composition, camera movement, lighting, and shot selection during production. Adapt quickly to changing environments, available light, weather conditions, and production challenges. Maintain and troubleshoot camera equipment, ensuring all gear is shoot-ready.

Manage media cards, perform daily backups, and maintain organized footage throughout production.

Collaborate with producers and content teams to execute shot lists while identifying additional storytelling opportunities on location. Travel extensively across India,



including remote locations, for documentary and production assignments.

Post-Production (Secondary Responsibility) when required Edit documentaries, masterclasses, interviews, and promotional videos when required. Create short-form content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms. Organize, label, and prepare footage for post-production workflows. Perform basic color correction, audio balancing, subtitle integration, and export videos according to delivery specifications. Support the editing team during periods of high production volume.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in videography, documentary production, or commercial filmmaking. Strong understanding of cinematography, visual storytelling, and documentary-style shooting. Demonstrated ability to shoot confidently in uncontrolled, on-location environments with minimal supervision.

Excellent knowledge of camera systems, lenses, composition, lighting techniques, and professional audio recording. Proficiency in operating professional mirrorless or cinema cameras. Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro for editing and footage organization.

Strong understanding of production workflows, file management, and media backup best practices. Ability to work independently while maintaining high production quality. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across India for extended periods.

Equipment: Candidates must own or have regular access to skilled camera equipment, including a mirrorless or cinema camera and essential production accessories required for on-location shoots.

Experience using your own equipment professionally will be considered an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Sony mirrorless camera systems.

Experience shooting documentaries, cultural content, travel films, or educational content. Drone operation experience (licensed pilots preferred). Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve for color grading.

Experience working with gimbals, wireless audio systems, and multi-camera productions. Interest in Indian art, craft, heritage, and cultural storytelling.
