We are looking for an experienced Home Textile Designer to join a reputed organization in the export manufacturing industry.

Experience – 4 Years to 8 Years

Skills - Textile Art, CAD, Design Specifications

Minimum Qualification- Bachelor's Degree

Location- Gurugram

Working Language- English & Hindi

Candidates with relevant experience in home textile export houses or manufacturing setups are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

Design conceptualisation across product categories

Develop seasonal design concepts and surface patterns tailored to each product — print layouts for bedding sets and comforters, woven or embroidered repeat structures for cushion covers, motif-based artwork for quilts, and functional yet aesthetic patterns for kitchen linen (tea towels, aprons, oven mitts, table runners). Ensure design intent is appropriate for product scale, placement, and end-use.

Fabric & construction knowledge — product-specific

Select and evaluate fabrics appropriate to each product: cotton percale, sateen, microfibre, and dobby weaves for bedding; polyfill-lined wovens and quilted shells for comforters and duvets; 100% cotton or linen-cotton blends for kitchen linen. Understand thread counts, GSM, fill power, fabric hand feel, wash performance, and their relationship to cost and buyer market expectations.

CAD design & repeat artwork development

Create clean, production-ready CAD artwork and repeat structures using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent tools. Develop colourways and recolours per buyer requirements. Prepare print-ready files and embroidery-ready artworks with correct repeat dimensions, seam allowances, and placement guides as per product type and printing/weaving technique.

Techniques — print, weave, embroidery & embellishment

Understand and design for multiple decoration techniques relevant to home textiles: reactive/pigment/digital printing,

yarn-dyed and dobby weave structures, embroidery (hand and machine), kantha stitching, patchwork, appliqué, tufting, and screen printing for kitchen linen. Know which technique suits which product, at what cost point, and for which buyer market.

Design costing & cost-conscious development

Develop designs within buyer cost targets by factoring in fabric consumption (cutting efficiency for cushion covers, duvet cover panels), embellishment costs, number of print screens, embroidery stitch count, fill materials (hollow fibre, microfibre, down-alternative) for comforters and duvets, and finishing costs. Proactively suggest design alternatives when initial concepts exceed FOB targets.

PPT & CAD proposals for buyer presentations

Build polished, buyer-ready PowerPoint presentations and CAD line sheets showcasing seasonal collections, product groupings, colourway options, and coordinated range stories. Presentations should communicate design intent clearly, include fabric and technique callouts, pricing tiers, and be structured to facilitate quick buyer decision-making during range review meetings.

Buyer handling & sample follow-up

Support or independently handle assigned buyer accounts — addressing design queries, incorporating feedback on lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk samples, and managing revision cycles efficiently. Coordinate with the sampling and merchandising teams to ensure design intent is faithfully executed from first sample to bulk approval. Maintain clear, skilled buyer communication at all stages.

Export operations awareness

Understand the flow of the export product development cycle — from design brief and reference collection to sampling, QC, bulk production, and shipment. Be aware of critical path timelines for home textile products and coordinate proactively with internal teams to prevent design-stage delays from cascading into production or delivery issues.
