Role Description This is a full-time, in office Technical Superintendent role based in Mumbai.
The Technical
Superintendent will oversee the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring they are maintained to high safety, quality, and operational standards.
Responsibilities include planning and monitoring maintenance and repairs, coordinating dry-dockings, managing class and statutory surveys, and supervising the performance of onboard engineering teams. The role will involve regular vessel inspections, review of technical reports, analysis of machinery performance,
and implementation of cost-effective solutions while complying with international maritime regulations and company procedures.
The Technical
Superintendent will collaborate closely with shipboard staff, internal departments, and external stakeholders such as ship owners, classification societies, and vendors to support safe, efficient, and reliable vessel operations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Ship Management skills, including oversight of maintenance, repairs, budgeting, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Candidates should possess Maritime knowledge and experience, with familiarity in international regulations, classification requirements, and industry best practices.
Candidates should possess solid Inspection capabilities, including conducting vessel condition assessments, audits, and technical evaluations.
Candidates should possess Marine Engineering expertise, preferably with sailing experience as a Chief Engineer or senior engineering officer on ocean-going vessels.
Relevant degree or certification in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture, or equivalent maritime qualification.
Experience in managing technologically advanced and specialized vessels is highly beneficial.
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with attention to safety and cost efficiency.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in using technical and fleet management software; familiarity with advanced IT tools in ship management is an advantage.
