Key Responsibilities

Provide L3 production support for critical banking applications, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in production and non-production environments.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.

Monitor application performance, stability, and availability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.

Create and maintain operational runbooks, support documentation, and knowledge base articles.

Design, Development & Engineering

Design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements, bug fixes, and recent features for Java-based applications.

Analyse existing application code and implement improvements to enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Develop automation solutions and utilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Support application releases, deployments, and post-release validation activities.

Coding & Debugging

Perform hands-on development using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and related technologies.

Analyse and debug complex production issues by reviewing application logs, database queries, and system behaviour.

Troubleshoot issues across distributed systems, APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and microservices.

Contribute code fixes and enhancements as part of production issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop and execute unit, integration, and system test cases for application changes.





Ensure high-quality deliveries through thorough testing and validation.

Utilize automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to maintain consistent quality across deployments.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and support engineers.

Lead technical investigations for complex issues and coordinate resolution efforts across teams.

Promote best practices in coding, troubleshooting, system reliability, and operational excellence.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide effective technical solutions.

Communicate incident status, risk assessments, and resolution plans to management and key stakeholders.

Documentation

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation covering system architecture, support procedures, incident resolutions, troubleshooting guides, and development activities.

Document lessons learned and best practices to improve team knowledge and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

5+ years of experience in Java Development with L3 Production Support.

Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs.

Hands-on coding, debugging, and problem-solving experience.

Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting knowledge.

Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with enterprise-scale banking or financial applications.

Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Maven, Jenkins, and DevOps practices.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade software solutions.
