The Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team of bookkeeping professionals, ensuring quality and timely delivery of client work, coaching team members, and driving operational excellence. This role requires solid people management skills combined with a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of bookkeepers and accounting professionals.

Allocate work and manage team capacity to meet client deadlines.

Monitor productivity, quality, and turnaround times.

Review work to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal quality standards.

Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.

Support onboarding and training of new team members.

Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.

Escalate and resolve operational issues proactively.

Work closely with Operations Managers and client-facing teams to ensure service excellence.

Track and report team KPIs and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3–6 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, KPO, or shared services environments.

Minimum 1–2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.

Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end processes.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Australian bookkeeping or accounting firms.

Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar accounting software.

Experience managing a team of 5–15 professionals.

Exposure to client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
