Subscriber Data Management (SDM) Engineer / Senior Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Subscriber Data Management (SDM) Qualified with strong expertise in telecom core network subscriber databases and identity management solutions. The candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration, administration, and support of Nokia SDM platforms, ensuring reliable subscriber authentication, authorization, provisioning, and data consistency across 4G/5G networks.

The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of Nokia SDM architecture including HLR, HSS, UDM, AAA, subscriber provisioning systems, and 5G Core subscriber data management functions.

Key Responsibilities

Subscriber Data Management Operations

- Manage and support Nokia SDM solutions serving as the centralized repository for subscriber information.
- Administer subscriber identity data including IMSI, MSISDN, External IDs, and related provisioning records.
- Ensure data consistency, synchronization, and integrity across multiple network domains and applications.
- Perform subscriber data lifecycle management including creation, modification, migration, and deletion.

Authentication & Authorization

- Support subscriber authentication and authorization processes across 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, and other access networks.
- Manage authentication credentials, security profiles, and access permissions.
- Troubleshoot authentication failures and service access issues.

Service Provisioning & Integration

- Configure and maintain subscriber service profiles, QoS parameters, usage limits, and service entitlements.
- Support service activation, modification, suspension, and deactivation activities.
- Integrate SDM platforms with network functions such as:
- HLR
- HSS
- UDM
- AUSF
- AAA
- PCRF/PCF
- OSS/BSS systems





4G/5G Core Network Support

- Support LTE EPC and 5G Core subscriber management functions.
- Understand and manage UDM-related subscriber data operations in cloud-native 5G environments.
- Participate in migration projects from legacy HLR/HSS architectures to virtualized and cloud-native SDM solutions.

System Administration & Troubleshooting

- Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Perform software upgrades, patches, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for service-affecting incidents.
- Ensure high availability and scalability of the SDM environment.

Security & Compliance

- Implement security controls for subscriber data access and management.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and operator security policies.
- Support audits and regulatory compliance requirements.

Documentation & Support

- Prepare operational procedures, implementation guides, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Core Network, OSS/BSS, Provisioning, Security, and Vendor Support teams.
- Provide L2/L3 support for SDM-related issues.

Required Experience

- 5+ years of experience in Telecom Core Network environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Nokia SDM, HSS, HLR, or UDM platforms.
- Experience supporting Tier-1 telecom operators is preferred.
- Experience in 4G LTE and 5G Core deployments.
- Experience with subscriber provisioning and authentication solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Nokia SDM/HSS/UDM certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud-native telecom applications and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools.
