Role Description The Students Volunteer – Chennai role is a full-time hybrid position, with most activities taking place on-site in Chennai and some tasks that can be completed from home. Volunteers will assist with event coordination, including setting up venues, guiding participants and visitors, and supporting registration and check-in processes. They will help manage crowd flow, distribute materials, respond to attendee queries, and coordinate with the organizing team to ensure smooth execution of festival sessions and performances.
Remote responsibilities may include online promotion, coordination over digital platforms,
and assisting with documentation or feedback collection. Volunteers are expected to follow schedules, communicate clearly with team members, and uphold the festival’s values of inclusivity, safety, and respect.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with attendees, partners, and fellow volunteers.
Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, follow schedules, and support event logistics.
Candidates should possess teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work respectfully in diverse groups and assist others when needed.
Candidates should possess basic digital literacy, including comfort with messaging apps, email, and social media for coordination and outreach.
Candidates should possess a proactive and responsible attitude, with reliability, punctuality, and readiness to take initiative during events.
Candidates should preferably be current students or recent graduates interested in event management, community service, or youth leadership.
Candidates should be able to commit to full time volunteer hours during the festival period and be available for in office work in Chennai.
