State Lead

Organisation: Janani Family Care Location: To be based in one of: Chennai, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Jaipur, Bhopal or Delhi (1 x State Lead per city)

Contract type: Fixed-term, 3 years (with possibility of extension) Reports to: Project Manager

Janani Family Care, a company that focuses on expanding contraceptive choices in India, is undertaking an initiative to enhance access to hormonal contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices (IUDs). The initiative will focus on six Indian states, and combine healthcare provider training, medical detailing and marketing.

Role Summary The State Co-ordinator will be the project lead for their state. Their primary function is to achieve sales and related targets by ensuring proper integration between provider training, medical detailing and marketing in their state. They will be responsible for implementing national strategies and workplans at a state level, and will be a focal point for partners and stakeholders in their state.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Coordination

· Ensure alignment of workplans and activities to achieve state-level objectives

· Hold regular partner meetings to review implementation progress, identify bottlenecks and address delays.

· Ensure workplans are executed on time and to budget.

· Maintain a mapping of key stakeholders and influencers and ensure they are engaged and kept informed of the project progress

· Produce reports in line with the national leadership needs

Medical Detailing & Sales Operations

· Work with sales teams to integrate project deliverables into sales team plans,



ensuring primary and secondary sales targets are achieved

· Ensure that sales teams work closely with clinical trainers to ensure healthcare providers experience seamless integration between training and sales

· Monitor performance against key performance indicators and work with teams to address shortfalls and bottlenecks

Marketing & Demand Generation

· Work with the marketing team to implement attractive promotional packages, sampling, discounts and other trade promotions to encourage trial and purchasing.

· Work with relevant professional healthcare bodies (FOGSI, IMA etc) at a state level and ensure participation in state conferences and trade shows to drive product awareness and ultimately uptake.

Supply, Procurement & Pricing

· Monitor consumer pricing and work with providers and partners to ensure end user pricing is affordable

· Engage with the sales team to ensure consistent supplies and ensure manufacturer relationships are leveraged towards achieving project deliverables

Monitoring & Evaluation

· Collect, analyse and report key performance data as required and use findings to adapt implementation and take corrective action as needed

Budget Management





· Manage the state budget for marketing and general operations in line with budget allocations and the company’s policies

· Identify and communicate budget variances promptly; propose and implement corrective actions

Risk and compliance

· Ensure that all state-level activities comply with India’s laws, rules and regulations, with the company’s policies and SOPs and with international best practices

· Manage compliance obligations, identifying, flagging, and mitigating compliance risks

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

· A degree in business and / or project management or a related field

· At least 5 years experience managing similar state-level private sector operations in India

· Robust planning, coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills

· Strong financial, data management and reporting skills

· Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi, and other predominant language in the state

· Willingness to travel regularly within the state

Desirable

· Familiarity with family planning, reproductive health, or pharmaceutical/medical device markets in India

· Experience working with healthcare providers, particularly from a capacity development and / or sales and marketing perspective
