Job Summary A GNM/ANM Nursing Staff member is responsible for providing quality patient care, assisting doctors during examinations and treatments, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining accurate medical records. The nurse plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and recovery while adhering to hospital policies and healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Duties
- Provide direct nursing care to patients as per doctor's instructions.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Assist patients with daily activities and personal hygiene when required.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and emotional support.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the concerned doctor.
Clinical Duties
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform wound dressing and basic nursing procedures.
- Collect patient samples for laboratory investigations as required.
- Maintain infection-control and patient-safety protocols.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate nursing records and patient charts.
- Document medications administered and treatments provided.
- Prepare nursing reports and handover notes during shift changes.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Ward Management Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.
- Check availability of medical supplies and nursing consumables.
- Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, and other healthcare staff.
Required Qualifications
- ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) or GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration preferred.
- Basic knowledge of patient care and nursing procedures.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies

Experience

Working Conditions
- Hospital wards, OPD, Emergency Department, ICU, and other patient-care units.
- Rotational shifts, night duties, weekends, public holidays, and emergency coverage may be required.
Salary Range Typically, ₹7,000 – ₹12,000 per month, depending on qualifications, experience, shift responsibilities, and hospital policies.

B.Sc Nursing Staff Nurse – (JD)
Job Summary A Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, maintaining medical records, and collaborating with doctors and healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess and monitor patients' health conditions.
- Record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide bedside nursing care according to prescribed treatment plans.
- Assist patients with daily living activities when required.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies.
Medication Administration
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients for medication side effects and adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate medication records.
Clinical Procedures
- Assist doctors during examinations and medical procedures.
- Perform wound dressing and catheter care.
- Collect blood, urine, and other specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain infection prevention and control practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing notes.
- Prepare nursing reports and handover notes.
- Update patient progress and communicate changes to doctors.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Provide guidance on preventive healthcare and disease management.
Safety & Quality
- Follow hospital policies, protocols, and ethical standards.
- Ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the appropriate nursing council (e.g., Indian Nursing Council and State Nursing Council).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Salary Range (India)
- Fresher: ₹18,000 – ₹20,000 per month
- Experienced Nurse: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000+ per month
- Higher salaries may be offered in corporate hospitals, specialty centers, and overseas opportunities.
